The registration of large and complex areas of land under the Heritage Act
We were delighted to be asked by the Heritage Council of Victoria to undertake a review of challenges around the registration and management of ‘large and complex areas of land’ under the Heritage Act 1995. Working with a small Steering Group of Heritage Council members and Heritage Council Secretariat staff GJM Heritage was able to identify a series of key legislative and administrative barriers to the registration of large and complex areas of land and also develop some practical and cost effective solutions to address the problems identified. We’re particularly pleased that the Heritage Council has indicated that it intends to take the recommendations forward and look forward to seeing the results.
