The following are examples of recently completed Interpretation Plans and Strategies:

41 ST ANDREWS PLACE, EAST MELBOURNE

The former Government Printing Office in Melbourne’s Treasury precinct has been transformed into a state-of-the-art, contemporary adult learning and teaching facility. GJM undertook interpretive planning and content development and worked closely with project wayfinding and signage consultants, Studio Semaphore to deliver a suite of interpretation devices that celebrate the heritage significance of the former Printing Office.

SYDENHAM RAILWAY CULVERT, SYDENHAM

Interpretation at Sydenham communicates the history and function of the Sydenham Railway Culvert and the development of the Melbourne, Mount Alexander and Murray River Railway, the first government railway constructed in Victoria. GJM Heritage undertook interpretive planning, content development, and design consultation and worked in collaboration with Nuttshell design studio to create an interpretation sign that communicates the heritage signficance of the bluestone arch.

MENTONE RAILWAY STATION, MENTONE

Interpretation at Mentone Railway Station celebrates the history of the station at a time of great change . GJM Heritage oversaw the project’s delivery, undertaking the interpretive planning, content development, design consultation, and the implementation and installation of interpretive devices across the site. Our team worked closely with interpretive design studio, Nuttshell, to create a large-scale graphic installation for the State significant Mentone Railway Station, with additional interpretation comprising embedded landscaping treatments expressing the original rail alignment, and the reinstatement of existing interpretation panels.

FORMER COBURG RAILWAY LINE INTERPRETATION PROGRAM

Our team collaborated with Tract Consultants to prepare a dynamic interpretation program for the Former Coburg Railway Line. The aim of the program was to communicate the history, heritage significance and redevelopment of the line, with interpretation taking the form of a suite of signage, large-scale pic-perf graphics that re-imagine the history of the line, embedded landscape treatments, and the reinstatement of heritage elements.
