GJM Heritage has experience in navigating the statutory heritage and planning approvals for major projects that impact on or interact with heritage places. We understand the complexity of major development and infrastructure projects and the delivery pressures on proponents and developers. We can provide clients with strategic heritage advice to achieve optimal outcomes for both the project and the heritage place.

We have been heavily involved in the heritage aspects of some of Victoria’s most significant recent infrastructure and development projects including Eastern Freeway; Metro Tunnel; Level Crossing Removals; and Barwon Heads Road Duplication.

HERSTON QUARTER, BRISBANE

GJM Heritage has been working alongside the Queensland Government, Australian Unity, Hutchinson Builders and the design team on the major redevelopment of the State Heritage-listed Herston Quarter. Declared a Priority Development Area in 2016, GJM has acted as independent expert heritage advisors to Economic Development Queensland to ensure that the heritage values of the Lady Lamington and Edith Cavell nurses’ homes are maintained and the late nineteenth and early twentieth century buildings restored to their former glory.
