SWAN STREET BUILT FORM HERITAGE REVIEW
For the Swan Street Built Form Heritage Review we worked with the City of Yarra’s Urban Design consultant team to develop appropriate built form parameters for heritage places and precincts in the context of the development imperatives and pressures on this Major Activity Centre . These parameters were transferred into Design & Development Overlay controls in the Yarra Planning Scheme.
This project involved historical research, review of existing heritage citations, and close collaboration with urban designers to identify appropriate built form controls.
We have taken this project through from initial fieldwork to expert evidence at Planning Panels Victoria.
CITY OF YARRA BUILT FORM REVIEW
Following on from the Swan Street Built Form Review, the City of Yarra engaged GJM Heritage to undertake Built Form Reviews for Bridge Road, Victoria Street, Smith Street, Brunswick Street, Queens Parade, Alexandra Parade & Gertrude Street. These Reviews included a consideration of whether mandatory or discretionary controls are appropriate to achieve greater clarity in heritage outcomes.
